The Newcomerstown Trojans lost against the Indian Valley Braves back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Newcomerstown was beaten by Indian Valley 72-43. While losing is never fun, Newcomerstown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Indian Valley is ranked 46th).
Indian Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryker Williams, who scored 12 points along with five steals. Tyson Pryor was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Newcomerstown now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Indian Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newcomerstown will take on Tuscarawas Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Indian Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Martins Ferry at 5:30 p.m. on December 9th.
