The Apponequet Regional Lakers will head out on the road to face off against the Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Apponequet Regional had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 73-61 to Dartmouth on Monday.
Meanwhile, Somerset Berkley Regional had just enough and edged Durfee out 70-67 on Friday.
Somerset Berkley Regional's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brendan Mcdonald led the charge by scoring 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Medeiros, who scored nine points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Apponequet Regional's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Apponequet Regional came up short against Somerset Berkley Regional in their previous meeting back in February, falling 67-54. Can Apponequet Regional avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
