Mansfield is 3-0 against Athens since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Mansfield Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Athens Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Mansfield beat Wyalusing Valley 47-42. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mansfield.
Karson Dominick continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Dominick is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Harer, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Athens strolled past Towanda with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 69-52. The win was just what Athens needed coming off of a 77-47 defeat in their prior match.
Connor Mosher was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Korey Miller, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five steals.
Mansfield's record is now 14-6. As for Athens, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Mansfield beat Athens 61-51 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Mosher, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Mansfield still be able to contain Mosher? There's only one way to find out.
