The Las Lomas Knights put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 win over Campolindo. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Las Lomas' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roman Mercado, who picked up 204 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Mercado's longest reception was for an incredible 96 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Thomas, who threw for 347 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt.
Despite the defeat, Campolindo saw an underclassman step up: Micah Parker rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Tim Daugherty was another key contributor, gaining 151 total yards and a touchdown.
Las Lomas' victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. As for Campolindo, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Las Lomas will take on Acalanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Acalanes has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 251 points over their last five games. As for Campolindo, they will be playing at home against Miramonte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Miramonte will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 288th, while Campolindo is ranked 113th).
