Carter is a perfect 6-0 against Lincoln since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cowboys will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Carter sitting on six straight victories and Lincoln on three.
Carter is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 57-34 margin over Pinkston on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won five games by 23 points or more so far this season.
Carter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Lacy, who threw for 342 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 17.1 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 39 yards and one score. Caden Morrison was in the mix as well, providing the Cowboys with two TDs.

Another reason for the win was Carter's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Landon Traylor with two. He has been hot for a while, having also posted six or more total tackles the last 15 times he's played.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Lincoln against Roosevelt on Thursday as the squad secured a 42-14 victory. The Tigers are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the seventh matchup they've won by 20+ points this season.
Carter better keep an eye on Ta'Lan Beachum. He was instrumental in Lincoln's win, rushing for 178 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, and also catching one touchdown. Those 178 rushing yards gave Beachum a new career-high. Emmanuel Holmes was another key player, throwing for 92 yards and four TDs.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Lincoln proved: they limited Roosevelt to a paltry 2.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Cameron Jackson for the heroic effort on defense: he. Lincoln didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 12.4.
Carter's record now sits at 6-3. As for Lincoln, their record is now 7-1.
Thursday's contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Damarion Boozer and Beachum. Boozer just won't slow down this season and has run in 19 touchdowns while averaging 130.4 rushing yards per game. Beachum has been a dominant force too and has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 136.4 rushing yards per game.
Carter strolled past Lincoln when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 29-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
