Softball Recap: Cromwell's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Cromwell had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 10-9 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Bolton Bulldogs by a score of 5-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

As for Bolton, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4. The match marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

For Bolton's part, Abbie Gravel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. Gravel has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bolton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Rosenberg, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Coming up, Cromwell will challenge Westbrook at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bolton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Hale Ray at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
