Baseball Recap: Fairview's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Fairview barely beat Rhodes the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors blew past the Rams 11-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Warriors have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dylan Sather was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Fairview is undefeated when Sather posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-6 otherwise. Brady Weir was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Fairview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rhodes struck out 12 times.

The win was the fourth in a row for Fairview, bringing their record up to 10-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Rhodes, they moved to 15-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairview will take on Avon Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Shoremen have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Rhodes, they will square off against Lutheran West at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
