Shaker Heights is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over North Olmsted. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Raiders have posted since April 30th.
Meanwhile, while North Ridgeville put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Elyria. The Rangers were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Pioneers. The Rangers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.
Gannon Padgett and Enmanuel Ramos were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Padgett pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Ramos tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Padgett posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At bat, Padgett went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Ramos went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Daniel Lowe, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Iezzi, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
North Ridgeville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory made it two in a row for North Ridgeville and bumps their season record up to 19-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Shaker Heights, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-20.
