Friends' Central is 7-2 against Friends Select since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Friends' Central will look to defend their home court against Friends Select at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Friends' Central's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while Friends Select has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Even though George School scored an imposing 64 points on Friday, Friends' Central still came out on top. Friends' Central walked away with a 74-64 victory over George School. Given Friends' Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while George School is ranked 180th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Friends' Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Muhsin Muhammad out in front who scored 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Muhammad has scored all season. Reid Belcher was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Friends Select pushed their score all the way to 72 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of Academy of the New Church.
Friends' Central's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Friends Select, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Friends' Central lost to Friends Select at home by a decisive 66-50 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Friends' Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
