Even though the South River Seahawks scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, the Arundel Wildcats still came out on top. Arundel walked away with a 79-69 win over South River. Given Arundel's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while South River is ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arundel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Frayer, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Samson Anjorin, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds.
The win for Arundel keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for South River, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Arundel will be home for the holidays to greet Annapolis at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for South River, they will head out on the road to face off against Eleanor Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eleanor Roosevelt is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
