Make it six blowout wins for the Lutheran Lions this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Palmer Ridge 41-12 on the road. The team ran away with 29 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
It was another big night for Jayda Vigil, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Berkley Schneider, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Despite the defeat, Palmer Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Corinna Arellano scored four points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Palmer Ridge struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The win (which was Lutheran's third in a row) raised their record to 11-9. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.7 points. As for Palmer Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.
Lutheran will head out on the road to face off against the Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Discovery Canyon is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Palmer Ridge will take on the Rangers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lewis-Palmer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
