It was a good run, but Davenport unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Fredericksburg Billies by a score of 9-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Billies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 back in March.

KINLEY Keller was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. KATIE Wash was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Davenport's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7-1. As for Fredericksburg, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-9.

Davenport and Fredericksburg should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Wolves (ranked 154th) will meet Canyon Lake (ranked 751st) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fredericksburg will take on Wimberley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (222 vs. 588). The Billies are on a seven-game streak of home wins, the Texans a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
