The Northampton County Jaguars will square off against the North Edgecombe Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Northampton County has five straight victories, North Edgecombe has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Northampton County had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 34-point drubbing they dealt Southeast Halifax on Friday. Northampton County claimed a resounding 70-36 win over Southeast Halifax. With the Jaguars ahead 33-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Jiyoun Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 13 to rack up 21 points along with seven assists and five boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Torrey Harris, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points and three steals.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Northampton County was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, North Edgecombe was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 53-47 to Northwest Halifax.
Northampton County will need to focus on slowing down Jahmir Parker, one of several North Edgecombe players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, Parker is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Isavius Arrington was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.
Northampton County pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for North Edgecombe, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's game: Northampton County has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 35.8% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for North Edgecombe, though, as they've only made 22.1% of their three-pointers this season. Given Northampton County's sizable advantage in that area, North Edgecombe will need to find a way to close that gap.
Northampton County was able to grind out a solid win over North Edgecombe in their previous meeting back in January, winning 75-64. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was North Edgecombe's Nyzir Mills, who posted 22 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Northampton County still be able to contain Mills? There's only one way to find out.
