Prospect Hill Academy came tearing into Monday's game with four straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Maimonides by a score of 61-51.
Despite the loss, Maimonides still got an impressive performance from Leah Kaplan, who scored 17 points. Kaplan scored a full 33.3% of Maimonides' points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eden Taieb, who scored ten points.
Prospect Hill Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Maimonides, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prospect Hill Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Neighborhood House Charter at 4:30 p.m. on January 19, 2024. As for Maimonides, they will head out on the road to face off against Cristo Rey at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
