The Kennedy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They lost to Naugatuck on the road by a decisive 73-58 margin. Kennedy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Naugatuck apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Kennedy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terrance Morrison, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Morrison has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyler Morrison, who scored eight points along with five assists and four steals.
Kennedy bumped their record down to 2-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Naugatuck, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Kennedy will be playing in front of their home fans against Watertown at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Justin Black Jr. and Morrison. As for Naugatuck, they will head out on the road to square off against Oxford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
