For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Chugiak and Bettye Davis East Anchorage have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Thunderbirds. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Chugiak also got a great performance from Tyson Morgan as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caiden Capozzi, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Gus Westerlund was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Eagle River has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Chugiak struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Eagle River got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Chugiak by a conclusive 11-0 score. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
