The Casa Grande Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They managed a 71-67 victory over Campo Verde. The win was a breath of fresh air for Casa Grande as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Casa Grande found their leader in underclassman Aveon Williams, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 41 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dewayne Haygood, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Casa Grande's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Campo Verde, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Casa Grande and Horizon will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Horizon is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Campo Verde, Campo Verde and Higley will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Higley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 213 points over their last three contests.
