Patrick Henry is 1-9 against Rural Retreat since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. Patrick Henry will be strutting in after a win while Rural Retreat will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Patrick Henry was able to grind out a solid victory over Honaker, taking the game 5-2. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Kolby Hicks made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Connor Brown, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Alex Brown was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Patrick Henry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Rural Retreat came up short against Chilhowie on Tuesday, falling 16-4. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Rural Retreat saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Childers, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Another was Eli Poole, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Rural Retreat's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Patrick Henry, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Patrick Henry has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rural Retreat struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
