The Hampton Talbots will face off against the Western Beaver Golden Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hampton has six straight victories, Western Beaver has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Hampton narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Beaver 6-4.

Marissa Snyder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Aliza Michielli was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Addi Hanna was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Hampton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Western Beaver was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They lost 11-1 to Beaver.
Western Beaver saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn Zele (2025), who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Hampton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Western Beaver, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hampton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like Western Beaver struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
