CAMBRIANA RITTINGER spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on ALYSSA DUDLEY, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was VIVIAN MORGAN, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Adena got the win against River Valley on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-1. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Addy Cottrill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Cottrill was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Marly Halcomb and Adriana Guarnieri did most of the damage at the plate: Halcomb went 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs, while Guarnieri scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. With that strong performance, Guarnieri is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Adelynn Nelson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Adena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .538 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Chillicothe's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Adena, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Adena's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Chillicothe has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 14 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Adena, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Chillicothe keep running through batters, or will the Warriors buck the trend?
Chillicothe beat Adena 8-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Cavaliers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
