Greer is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing at home against the Travelers Rest Devildogs at 7:30 p.m. Travelers Rest took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Greer, who comes in off a win.
Greer took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Southside Christian with a sharp 13-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Yellow Jackets needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Morgan Arterburn was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Adison Howard was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Delia Watson, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Travelers Rest didn't have quite enough to beat Seneca on Monday and fell 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Devildogs in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost four in a row.
Iris Cisson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, Travelers Rest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Capps, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That hit was Capps' first of the season.
The victory got Greer back to even at 2-2. As for Travelers Rest, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Greer hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. However, it's not like Travelers Rest struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
