The Cabrillo Jaguars''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 47-7 loss at the hands of Jordan. While losing is never fun, Cabrillo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 884th, while Jordan is ranked 221st).
Leading Jordan to victory were Jordan Washington and Jarret Nielsen. Washington gained 184 total yards and three touchdowns, while Nielsen threw for 510 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. Nielsen is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovin Randolph, who picked up 133 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Cabrillo's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.3 points per game. As for Jordan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Cabrillo will head out on the road to face off against Millikan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jordan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Long Beach Poly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Long Beach Poly is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
