Softball Recap: Midland Christian Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Midland Christian came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Southwest Christian School Eagles with a sharp 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Maddy Munoz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Midland Christian let Annie Munoz and Macey Wilson run wild. Munoz went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Wilson went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits Wilson has posted since back in April of 2024. Kyler Graham was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Midland Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwest Christian School only posted an OBP of .182.

Midland Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Southwest Christian School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Midland Christian will challenge rival All S at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Southwest Christian School is set to face off against their familiar foe Fort Worth Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
