Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school football. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2025 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Noah Grubbs of
Lake Mary is the 2025 MaxPreps Florida High School Football Player of the Year. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound senior quarterback led the Rams to a 12-3 record and Class 7A state championship, the first in school history.
For the season, Grubbs completed 234 of 402 passes for 3,250 yards and 40 touchdowns. He added 185 yards on the ground and seven more scores.

In a 28-27 win over Vero Beach in the state championship game, Grubbs completed 26 of 49 passes for a season-high 348 yards and three touchdowns. He also led the team with 54 yards rushing.
Lake Mary was trailing 27-21 in the final seconds at the Vero Beach 43-yard line when Grubbs completed a pass to Barrett Schulz, who then handed it off to Tavarius Brundidge Jr. for the game-winning touchdown as time expired.
Grubbs helped avenge last year's state championship game loss to Venice with a 31-26 win in the semifinals. He completed 23 of 34 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns to go with another score on the ground.
In four seasons as Lake Mary's signal caller, Grubbs finished with 11,537 passing yards and 143 touchdowns. He also found the end zone 16 times on the ground.
Regarded as one of the top senior quarterback prospect in the country according to 247Sports, Grubbs signed with Notre Dame earlier this month.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team.
