Stansbury's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Hymer, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Tobi Johnson, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Damani Wilkerson was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals for Hillcrest. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wilkerson has scored at least 25% of Hillcrest's points. Zach Tanner was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Stansbury bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hillcrest, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Stansbury and Durango will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. One thing working in Durango's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. Hillcrest will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Olympus at 8:30 p.m. on December 27th. Olympus is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
