The Langley Saxons won the last time they faced the Washington-Liberty Generals, and things went their way on Thursday too. Langley walked away with a 32-25 victory over Washington-Liberty. Given Langley's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Washington-Liberty is ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Langley to victory were Bri Borcherding and Maddie Shamloo. Borcherding scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Shamloo scored ten points along with four steals. Shamloo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played.
Langley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. As for Washington-Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
