The TECH Freire Charter Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thomas A. Edison Owls at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. TECH Freire Charter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
TECH Freire Charter was handed a two-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Dragons on Friday. TECH Freire Charter blew past the Dragons, posting a 82-33 victory at home. The win was all the more spectacular given TECH Freire Charter's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 397th in Pennsylvania, while the Dragons are ranked 60th in Delaware).
Markel Moran was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. Another player making a difference was Omar Leach, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Thomas A. Edison waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Parkway Northwest by a score of 50-40.
Thomas A. Edison's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andre Roberts led the charge by scoring 17 points along with two blocks. It was the first time this season that Roberts posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ernan Rivera, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
TECH Freire Charter's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Thomas A. Edison, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
TECH Freire Charter came out on top in a nail-biter against the Owls in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, sneaking past 65-63. Will TECH Freire Charter repeat their success, or do the Owls have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
