3A Region II District 14 recap September 24, 2013
Rains moved up to 663 from 807 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region II District 14. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Edgewood 48-34.
Rains made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,876 from 8,757. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 48-34 victory over the Bulldogs last week.
Jon Humphries was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 120 yards on 20 carries as Ford lost to Ferris. Teammate Dalton Beierschmitt added to the ground attack by rushing for 80 yards.
Humphries was a passing and rushing force as the Panthers fell to the Yellowjackets.
Kaufman's Clay Rhodes and Cameron Duncan have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Rhodes has thrown for 276 yards this season, while Duncan has 11 catches for 139 yards. Humphries from Ford leads the league in rushing with 623 yards.
Derek Smith's team led 3A Region II District 14 in scoring this week by notching 48 points on Edgewood.
