The Hagerstown Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Eastern Hancock Royals at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hagerstown comes in on three and Eastern Hancock on nine.
While Hagerstown's win against Northeastern wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday. The one-run effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
The result came thanks to Sydney Dobbs's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Payton Cones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.
Eastern Hancock came out on top against Centerville on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Royals blew past the Bulldogs 10-1. Considering the Royals have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Nieko Engleking looked comfortable as she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Lilli Ringer was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kaydence Harrison, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Eastern Hancock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.
Hagerstown's record now sits at 15-2. As for Eastern Hancock, their record is now 13-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hagerstown has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Eastern Hancock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hagerstown beat Eastern Hancock 6-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
