The Shelby Coyotes gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 75-39 victory over St. Ignatius.
St. Ignatius' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rhain Gonzalez, who scored 12 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Landon C walks over ice, who scored 14 points.
Shelby's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-0. As for St. Ignatius, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
