The American History Bald Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Science Park Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
American History has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a rough 59-23 loss at the hands of Montclair Kimberley Academy. American History was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Erica Lawson, who scored four points along with five steals. Lawson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ashiyah Holliman, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Science Park suffered a tough 61-37 loss at the hands of Paramus Catholic on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Science Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while Paramus Catholic is ranked 127th).
American History's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7. As for Science Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.
American History was taken down by Science Park 50-21 in their previous matchup back in January of 2016. Can American History avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
