If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for New Milford. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Hawthorne at 7:00 PM. Hawthorne will need to watch out since New Milford have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Last Friday, New Milford put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They made easy work of Elmwood Park and carried off a 38-6 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-0.
Meanwhile, Hawthorne took their matchup against Harrison by a conclusive 33-8 score. The success made it back-to-back wins for Hawthorne.
Their wins bumped New Milford to 3-0 and Hawthorne to 2-1. In their victory, New Milford relied heavily on senior Bart Nativo, who rushed for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hawthorne will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
