The Oak Ridge War Eagles won the last time they faced the College Park Cavaliers, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Oak Ridge snuck past the Cavaliers with a 41-35 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Oak Ridge.
Oak Ridge had a senior duo take command as Taylor Jones scored ten points along with five assists and three steals and Chioma (treasure) Emeh scored 12 points along with four steals and two blocks. Emeh hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Brooklyn Mims was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, College Park had strong showings from Katie Westwood, who scored 17 points, and Natalia Ibizugbe, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Oak Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 19-11 record this season. As for College Park, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-13.
Oak Ridge will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Caney Creek is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for College Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Caney will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1037th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 500th).
