The Emerson Mavericks will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the South Oak Cliff Bears at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Emerson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 755 points over their last 14 matchups.
Emerson extended their postseason success on Friday against Colleyville Heritage. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 59-48. Emerson's win was all the more impressive since Colleyville Heritage was averaging only 18.14 points allowed on the season.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Michael Hawkins and Luke Ullrich. Hawkins had a great game and rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Meanwhile, Ullrich was balling out in the loss, rushing for 225 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 425 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, South Oak Cliff came tearing into Saturday's contest with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Lovejoy, posting a 42-0 win on the road. South Oak Cliff might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won ten games by 21 points or more this season.
South Oak Cliff had a senior duo take command as Khalil Ewell gained 85 total yards and two touchdowns and Danny Green jr punched in three rushing scores. Green jr hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games.
Their wins bumped Emerson to 12-2 and Colleyville Heritage to 12-2.
