The Palmyra Panthers won the last time they faced the Canton Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Palmyra was the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over Canton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Palmyra.
When it comes to explaining why Canton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Preston Brewer. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds. Brewer scored a full 29.7% of Canton's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Palmyra's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Canton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.
Palmyra will head out on the road to face off against Marion County on Monday. Marion County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Palmyra likes a good challenge. As for Canton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clark County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
