The Tri-Central Trojans had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came out on top against Madison-Grant by a score of 72-64. Given Tri-Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Madison-Grant is ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tri-Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drake Ramseyer, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Landon Grant, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Several Argylls players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Clayton Hull, who scored 20 points. The match was Hull's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Teagan Yeagy was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Tri-Central pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Madison-Grant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Tri-Central and Alexandria-Monroe will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Madison-Grant and Yorktown will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Yorktown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday.
