Basketball Recap: Parkland Falls Despite Big Games from Jordan Fisher and Kimora Brooks

On Wednesday, the Parkland Mustangs came up short against the Ledford Panthers and fell 53-45. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Panthers are ranked 48th).

Kimora Brooks and Jordan Fisher certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Brooks went 6 of 8from beyond the arc en route to 18 points, while Fisher went 5 of 10 on her way to 15 points and four steals. Fisher is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ledford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addie Robertson, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Smith, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Parkland and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Ledford, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Parkland will venture away from home to challenge West Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Forsyth has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Ledford, they will host West Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
