The Pacific Bay Christian Eagles pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-56 to The Nueva School. Pacific Bay Christian lost against The Nueva School in their previous head to head on January 4th, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 77-29 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Pacific Bay Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ethan Chau. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Jung, who scored ten points.
Tammer Maraqa was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points for The Nueva School. Diego Agustin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Pacific Bay Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for The Nueva School, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
Pacific Bay Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Summit Shasta at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Summit Shasta has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 543 points over their last seven games. As for The Nueva School, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Francisco Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Francisco Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
