The Los Lunas Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Eldorado Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Los Lunas can't be too worried about heading out to take on Eldorado: they just beat Albuquerque at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Tigers blew past the Bulldogs 15-5 on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Los Lunas let Jasiah Byers and Cruz Romero run wild. Byers went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three doubles, while Romero went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Romero a new career-high. Mark Scime was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Los Lunas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The home team had won the previous two meetings between Eldorado and Manzano, and Eldorado kept the tradition alive. The Eagles put the hurt on the Monarchs with a sharp 15-1 victory on Saturday.
Sullivan Wilson and Eric Yturbe did most of the damage at the plate: Wilson went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple, while Yturbe got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Mestas, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Los Lunas' record now sits at 15-9. As for Eldorado, their record is now 19-4.
Los Lunas' speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Eldorado, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Los Lunas continue to outrun the ball?
Los Lunas came up short against Eldorado in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, falling 12-7. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
