The Estes Park Bobcats will face off against the Dawson School Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Estes Park has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Estes Park and Lyons meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Bobcats fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Bobcats have lost by just one run.
Noah Webster and Caleb Sumner were huge no matter where they played even without the win. Throwing, Webster didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Sumner pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one). At the plate, Webster went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Sumner went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Drake Kearney made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Dawson School was able to grind out a solid victory over SkyView Academy on Thursday, taking the game 10-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Shelton Johnson was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Dawson School is 2-1 when Johnson posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Dawson Kusel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.
Estes Park's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Dawson School, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Estes Park has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Dawson School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
