Trona hasn't had much luck against Lone Pine recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tornadoes will challenge the Golden Eagles at 3:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Trona has three straight victories, Lone Pine has 16 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Trona will bounce into Monday's match after beating Mojave, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tornadoes walked away with an 11-8 win over the Mustangs on Tuesday.

Lily Mehan made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Trona got a massive performance out of Chloe Corrion, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Corrion has been hot recently, having posted four or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jade Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and one RBI.
Immanuel Christian hit Lone Pine with a 12-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Golden Eagles lost 22-0 to the Crusaders.
Lone Pine's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Trona, their record is now 10-6.
Lone Pine's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Trona has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .514. It's a different story for Lone Pine, though, as they've only averaged .356. Will they be able to contain Trona's hitters?
Trona came out on top in a nail-biter against Lone Pine in their previous matchup last Tuesday, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tornadoes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
