After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Neah Bay, the LaConner Braves were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They managed a 38-32 win over Friday Harbor. That result was just more of the same for these two, as LaConner also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
LaConner found their leader in underclassman Maeve Mccormick, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mccormick has scored at least 25% of LaConner's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacqui Lam, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
LaConner pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Friday Harbor, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
LaConner will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Mason at 7:00 p.m. As for Friday Harbor, they will head out on the road to face off against Mount Vernon Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Vernon Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Friday Harbor in Washington (Mount Vernon Christian is ranked 109th, while Friday Harbor is ranked 294th).
