Westview's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Omaha South by a score of 44-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Westview has suffered yet this season.
Despite the defeat, Westview saw an underclassman step up: Stella Williams scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Williams continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Ross, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Omaha South's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaliyah Foster, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Foster hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Eve Hodoly was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Westview bumped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Omaha South, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Westview will be playing in front of their home fans against Marian at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Omaha South, they will head out on the road to challenge Lincoln Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
