Sadly, the Millard Eagles are still looking for their first win of the season after 21 contests. They lost to Water Canyon on the road by a decisive 61-44 margin on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Millard of the 55-49 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Water Canyon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dynonte Blackmore led the charge by scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. It was the first time this season that Blackmore pulled down eight or more rebounds. David Barlow was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds.
Millard's defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-21. As for Water Canyon, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9.
Millard will take on Kanab at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Water Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
