After flying high against New Foundations last Friday, the Solebury Spartans came back down to earth. Solebury fell just short of Phelps by a score of 77-74. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Solebury's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tyler Simpson, who scored 36 points, and Joell Idrovo who scored 27 points. Simpson hasn't dropped below 15points for ten straight games.
Solebury has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Phelps, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-10.
Solebury won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hill School at 4:45 p.m. on January 16th. As for Phelps, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Cross Christian Academy at 3:45 p.m. Cross Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Phelps likes a good challenge.
