Warde has gone a perfect 7-0 against Bridgeport Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Hilltoppers at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Warde's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Bullard-Havens 32-0. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Mustangs had established a 25-point advantage.

Warde had a senior duo take command as Andrew Shelov picked up 134 receiving yards and three TDs and James Dellavolpe threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns.

Warde didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Charlie Jeffery and Isaiah Mason.

Meanwhile, Bridgeport Central didn't have quite enough to beat Bassick on Saturday and fell 34-32. The loss continues a trend for the Hilltoppers in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

Warde will need to focus on slowing down Anajae Kearney, one of several Bridgeport Central players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 207 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 84 yards on only eight carries. Bridgeport Central's leading receiver William Bramwell was Kearney's top target yet again, picking up 95 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Warde has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points this season. As for Bridgeport Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Everything came up roses for Warde against Bridgeport Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-12 win. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Hilltoppers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
