The Taylor Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Atlantic Sharks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Taylor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.
Taylor will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Warner Christian Academy on Monday. Taylor blew past Warner Christian Academy 24-1. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.
Alex Ramos was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Ramos was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Taylor: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Fender, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Drew Moyer, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Taylor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Atlantic). They came out on top against Mainland by a score of 9-5 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.
Josiah Perez was a standout: he scored three runs while going 3-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Cameron Mcarthur was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Taylor now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Atlantic, their record is now 6-1.
Atlantic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Taylor has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. It's a different story for Atlantic, though, as they've only averaged .351. Will they be able to contain Taylor's hitters?
Taylor came up short against Atlantic in their previous matchup on Friday, falling 5-2. Can Taylor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
