Basketball Recap: Dieterich Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Dieterich hadn't done well against Altamont recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Dieterich Movin Maroons enjoyed a cozy 50-32 win over the Altamont Indians. This was a revenge game for the Movin Maroons: when they faced off against the Indians last Thursday, they had to take a 61-49 defeat.

Dieterich got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brock Niemerg out in front who went 7 for 9 en route to 19 points and four steals. That's the most points Niemerg has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Westendorf, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Dieterich smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Altamont only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Altamont lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kade Milleville, who earned eight points and nine boards. Parker Bell was another key player, putting up five points.

Dieterich is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Altamont, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Dieterich didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 43-39 defeat against St. Anthony on the 1st. As for Altamont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-60 win against North Clay/Clay City on the 1st.
