The Paden City Wildcats were the 47-37 winner over the Bridgeport Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Paden City took a 39-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Paden City came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 118th in West Virginia, while the Bulldogs are ranked 766th in Ohio).
Paden City got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Ashton Wade and
Lexi Mathis, who each put up nine points. Wade also led the team in rebounds with ten.
Kadie Householder took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.
Paden City's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Bridgeport, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.
Paden City will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Wildcat at 7:00 p.m. As for Bridgeport, they will head out on the road to take on the Shamrocks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
