Unioto proved they can win big  last Wednesday (they won by 11) and  on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Westfall Mustangs  3-2. The Shermans haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive  victory against them.
 KB Perkins made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases and two  RBI. Those  two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Jaxon Zickafoose was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double. He has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Callaway Ratliff, who  went 2-for-3 with one  RBI.
Unioto's record is now 14-6. As for Westfall, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Unioto will  face off against  rival Adena  at 5:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Westfall is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Zane Trace  at 5:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Mustangs 4.1, the Pioneers 3.4) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
